After-accident repair

Have you had an accident or a cullet? After estimating the loss and reporting to the insurer, you need to get a car accident repair. You do not know where to start? First and foremost, from finding a proven workshop - the need for experience to repair an auto after an accident. Wondering if the money from compensation is enough for a complete car repair? We tell you what the whole procedure looks like from the occurrence of the road event to the recovery of a viable vehicle.

What to do when an accident occurs? First of all, try to stay calm so that there is no unnecessary fuss with the second participant. Start the emergency lights and turn off the engine. Mark the scene of the accident with a warning triangle. In the event of a collision, get off the road so as not to obstruct traffic to other drivers. At night it is also a good idea to wear a reflective vest to be visible.

Take photos documenting the damage and write down the witness data. This can be very helpful in case of inconsistency as to the fault of the perpetrator. Please inform the insurer as soon as possible in order to meet all the required conditions. Within seven days, he should conduct a fact finding procedure and pay compensation within thirty days. Be sure not to fix your car until the insurer has taken a look.

Once all the formalities have been completed, you can begin searching for a suitable repair shop for accidental repair. When it comes to money from insurance policies, you have two options to choose from: cash and non-cash. In the first case the funds are paid to the owner of the car, while the insurance company accounts directly with the workshop. Both forms have their pros and cons.

If you have been the casualty of the accident, and you have an AC purchased, you should notify your insurance company about the need to repair your car with a policy. In turn, as an aggrieved person, you apply to the insurance company of the perpetrator. If you want to quickly repair your car, you should opt for cash from the policy. The insurer will then send you an expert valuer for the repair and will pay out the funds to you. It is important to know whether the cost estimate is included in the cost estimate because you omit this aspect of the tax liability. If you do not agree with the valuation, take the money anyway - during the workshop you may apply for a re-evaluation.

The non-cash option consists in leaving the car to the workshop with which the insurer has a contract and pick up the car after the repair - then we are not interested in any financial issues. Interestingly, as a rule, the customer does not get a repair quote at all, only learns what has been repaired and replaced.

What option do you choose? If you own a new, at most five-year car, choose a non-cash repair. In the case of older cars, it is good to choose the form of quotation and use good quality replacements and an independent workshop. Especially if you have a mechanic friend.
